until you hav been in the same position as these brave men, nobody should judge them! i eat absolutely anything but the thought of eating human flesh repulses me.

however, i totally understand the reasoning behind the choices nando and his friends made and i dont condemn them at all - all those people hav a lot more guts than me. i hope i am as strong-willed as them if i am ever unfortunate enough to find myself in a similar position

The link to CNN no lgoenr works. Strange, since CNN keeps other stories online for years. That headline generated a lot of negative publicity for CNN -- perhaps they took it down to avoid further negative flak.

I've found myself thinking of my cousin a lot lately and occasionally I go online searching for her name just to see what comes up. I happened upon your post today and it brought me to tears. Michele was my cousin and good friend and while her passing still hurts inside and someday I would like to give her a hug again as well, it was nice to read these words about her. Thank you for your prayers.

Tyler, you are amazing. I love how grateful you are to be alive and the fact that you were able to complete 2 full marathons after what your body has been through is amazing. I also have read some of your other posts and have a huge admiration for your love of the outdoors and life. I love how you are able to share those with your children and teach them wonderful character traits. Through your example, I know your children are being taught the rewards they will receive by working hard for things. Thank you for being such an amazing example to me by what you have accomplished and continue to accomplish. Thanks for being alive!

I haven’t tried to catch up on reading my friends blogs in ages … but today happened to be the day. And here I am now sitting on the couch in tears looking at your darling kids holding your hands and finishing the marathon with you. Thanks for sharing Tyler! This post is the best, and now I’m becoming motivated to get out there and run. Of course a glance out the window has nixed that thought for the moment, but there’s always tomorrow. Great job Tyler, congratulations!

Congratulations Tyler. Thanks for posting. That is something that I have never done. My best is five miles on a treadmill.

I am so grateful for you Tyler and how you have shown our children your love for the mountains. I have never hiked a peak and it's so great that our kids are having these opportunities with their Dad. I don't love picturing them walking on the edge of the mountains but I trust you because I know you love them as much as me! Thank you for being such a wonderful Dad to our children!
