It's true, to think about eating human flesh (that of a friend, no less) is one of those thoughts that when you have it, you shudder and force the thought from your mind. It's more than taboo, it's evil.

But then again, what do you do when your will to survive takes over? Certainly I would do anything to stay alive, and wouldn't we all?

I believe people jump out of burning buildings with the thought of survival. Escape the flames! Quick! And then they plummet to their alternate death. Eating human flesh is certainly not the first choice of people left in these situations. I'm sure if they had a horse there, they would eat that first. And had their been any vegetation of any kind, they would have sustained themselves on that. But left with absolutely no alternative, this was the best recourse.

I don't blame them. Their will to survive was courageous and honorable.
